Maquettes

This class was probably my favorite class I've ever taken at SCAD. We learned a ton of techniques about maquettes, building them, texture etc. I've definitely fallen in love with this more than I ever expected to.... I already posted Danny Devito, here's some more goodness

Consistency, consistency is key

So friends, its been a while... I decided to actually keep up with this thing since I feel like it's a bit more adult than deviantart. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of amazing artist on Deviantart (a long with a lot of awful ones,) but you never really get the feedback or 'individual pimpage' that you need to improve. So thus begins the buckling down of the blogspot, where I will ambitiously try to post once a week at least (if classes permit it.)

I suppose a lot has happened, the quarter ended, spring break began, I soaked up the sun with my best friends... Most importantly, I finished my LAST COMICS CLASS EVER! That's the art portion of this post. Here we have the pages that I'm not ridiculously embarrassed to post.

Some sketches

Here we have some random sketches:

Preliminary Hansel drawing for my Baba Yaga story, he looks nothing like the final concept:

beginnings of a turnaround for my self-superhero maquette:

Some faces:

All my time and energy is going into my maquette right now and I've been neglecting my Baba Yaga story... I do have some finished work from that but I think I'll show you all that once I've got a bit more.

I have some in process photos of my maquette that I'll post soon too.

Lack of posting

Hey Art blog,

I haven't posted in a hot minute so I thought I'd remedy that and post some stuff I've been working on. I would post my maquette BUT mr. JOHN LARISON has yet to give it back to me.

I've really got to get moving on my other classes because I'm definitely behind on my concept book for self-publishing.

Here are two poster ideas/covers:

I like this one the best and so does my teacher.

This was my original idea but I don't really like the amount of blank space. I thought about doing the silouette on top and another image on the bottom but I'm super pressed for time so that's not gonna happen.

I'll post more from this story soon.... but not today. I need to get these shits printed and meet up with Mr. Larison to discuss my maquette.

Dr Sketchy's naked cowgirl

So since I didn't make it to Sketch Club on friday I decided to pay the 7 bucks and hop on down to Dr. Sketchy's, the Savannah Chapter: http://www.drsketchysavannah.com/sept_09 with some friends of mine.

We ended up drinkin' and drawin' for a few hours:

I'm currently working on my Danny Devito sculpt, which is proving to need a lot more time than I've been able to give it.

I'm also working on some concept designs for my hansel and gretel story.

I'm trying to do some mask stuff for Garrett's play, which should be super fun because I freaking love mask stuff. I'm excited...
